Dundee gets 100Mb broadband

DUNDEE is set to become Scotland's first "fibrecity" – using the network of sewers beneath its streets to deliver ultra-high-speed communications to every home and business in the area. A new fibre-optic cable network, which will offer broadband speeds of up to 100 megabytes per second, will initially be linked to more than 55,000 homes across the city. All homes, businesses, hospitals and educational facilities in the city could eventually be connected. Why oh why not Edinburgh? So close yet so far, all of the roads in Edinburgh are dug up for the new trams, would it hurt to throw some cable down there? Saw this on the Scotsman
